Ash Creek Special Service District was established by Washington County, Utah, on December 17, 1979. We provide essential wastewater services to our local communities.  We manage the collection, treatment, and disposal of wastewater to protect public health and safety.  Ash Creek SSD is administered by a 6-member Administrative Control Board consisting of the mayor and one city council member from each of the municipalities of Hurricane, La Verkin, and Toquerville. 

Ash Creek currently has two wastewater treatment locations for our service area.  At our Hurricane, Utah location, we have 7 lagoons and a farm.  Currently, the farm is used to grow alfalfa, triticale, sudan grass, pistachio, and pecan trees.  Ash Creek SSD has been recognized by the Water Environment Association of Utah (WEAU) for its Outstanding Non-Discharging Lagoon Systems. To keep up with the growth in the area, we recently completed a new water reclamation facility in La Verkin, Utah.  Confluence Park Water Reclamation Facility (CPWRF)  is designed to treat up to 1.5 million gallons of wastewater every day. This new facility stands out from traditional treatment plants across the state, requiring 75% less land and 60% less electricity to run. The facility treats wastewater with an advanced biological treatment process.  We are excited to have this new facility running, as it will improve the services provided to the community.
